A simple yet pleasing table centerpiece that can be made with items from around your home!

This simple yet pleasing table centerpiece can be made from materials gathered in nature, around the home, or from the dollar store!
I found the snowy pinecones at the dollar store, but they could easily be replicated by painting the undersides of foraged pinecone scales with a thin layer of white acrylic paint.
Steal some springs of pine or fir from your Christmas tree, or simply use bits of fresh or dried greenery from around your yard!
How to Make Your Own Winter Forest Centerpiece:
Materials:
- A basket or an elongated bowl
- Cardboard, balled up newspaper, or cotton balls to make a raised base
- Cotton balls
- Pinecones
- White acrylic paint & small paintbrush (optional)
- Greenery, fresh or dried (optional)
- Raffia or twine for bows (optional)
- Electric tea lights
Method:

- Create a raised base for the inside of your basket (or bowl) by cutting cardboard to fit snugly an inch or so off the bottom of the basket, or by simply stuffing a layer of cotton balls, toilet paper, or newspaper.

2. Cover the base with a layer of cotton balls that have been gently pulled apart to look like snow.

3. If you want your pinecones to look snowy, simply paint the undersides of their scales with a thin layer of white acrylic paint. Let dry.
4. Leaving space for your row of candles in the center, try to cover as much of the cotton balls as possible with your pinecones and greenery, leaving just a bit of white peeking through.

5. Tuck your electric, battery-powered candles in, and tie bows of raffia or twine to the basket handles if desired.

6. Enjoy your winter forest table centerpiece all season long!
